In the Beginning

Come in, sit down, and relax while we explore the magical and mystical world of the Elf that has come to Earth to live amongst the human race in a new cat form.

In the far eastern land of CuiviƩnen, on the shores of the Inland Sea of Helcar and beneath the mountains of the Orocarni, the Elves awoke under the starlight of the Years of the Trees. Born under the stars before the ascension of the Moon and the Sun, they retain a special love for light and an inner spirit endowed with unique gifts. Fair and fine featured, brilliant and proud, immortal and strong, tall and agile, they are the most blessed of the Free Peoples.

These magical, unique, and amazing creatures have stepped foot on Earth. They are here again in this realm with us in the form of a cat like no other thanks to the hard work and dedication of a handful of special cat fanciers who have been chosen by the elves to undergo this mystical journey.

The Elf cat breed is a deliberate hybridization of the American Curl and the Sphynx. As one might imagine this breed of cat has curled ears like the American Curl breed and the hairlessness of the Sphynx breed. The Elf cat is currently in its infancy and there are very few hairless Elf cats in existence at this time.

The Elf cat breed was initially founded by Kristen Leedom of Quendi Elf Cats and Karen Nelson of Falmari Elf Cats. Both Kristen and Karen were Sphynx breeders originally and continue to breed Sphynx in addition to breeding the very unique and inquisitive Elf cat. In addition to Kristen Leedom and Karen Nelson there are several other breeders currently working on this breed who are hoping to help forward the Elf cat on to Championship status in The International Cat Association (TICA).

Elf cats are currently recognized by TICA as an experimental new breed and also are recognized by REFR (Rare and Exotic Feline Registry).

Karen and Kristen are still continually working on bringing these little ones onto this earth and are continuing in the endeavor to have the Elf breed accepted on all levels with TICA. The next step in the process is to apply for registration only status and this has been started. It is a very long journey and it has been kept going by many who have become somehow fascinated and enlightened by these adorable little babies.

Please keep checking back for updates as we continue to make progress on this journey to bring back the immortality of the Elf in cat form to live once again amongst the humans who are so special to have been touched by them.
